  • CARE appears to be the only charity that has pledged 100% of donations for Haiti go to Haiti. They also had "boots on the ground" from day one (they've been in Haiti a long time), understand the needs and culture, and have good working relationships with the Haitian people.

  • Yeah, this one stinks bad, but the Red Cross? Aren't they the ones who redirected half to a third of the hundreds of millions in donations intended for 9/11 and Katrina relief to unrelated projects and programs? No tax records needed there, it's on the Congressional Record.
